In this article I will review the Schmolke TLO lightweight carbon bottle cage for the Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 8.0 Di2. While I’m very please with the Tune Wassertrager 2.0 water bottle cages, I wanted something else and the weightweenie in me started some research.

C-Bear BB86/BB92 Ceramic Bottom Bracket PF41–AC for All Conditions
In this article I will look at the C-Bear BB86/BB92 Ceramic Bottom Bracket PF41-AC for all conditions. It is a press fit BB86/BB92 bottom bracket for Shimano GRX 820 Hollowtech II cranks on a Canyon Grizl CF SL8 1by gravel bike. Unfortunately the default Token Ninja BB4124PS bottom bracket started making funny noises.
Finally I will compare this PF41-AC all condition C-Bear Ceramic Bottom Bracket with the C-Bear Ceramic Bottom Bracket for BB86/BB92 PF41 with R (road) ceramic bearings, in the Canyon Ultimate CF SLX.
BBB Cycling UltraStop BBS-28HP Rim Brake Pads
In this article I will review the BBB Cycling UltraStop BBS-28HP Rim Brake Pads and try to compare these practically against the normal Shimano Dura Ace and SwissStop Brake Pads. Tested on the good old Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 8.
Syncros K-Edge Top Cap Computer Mount for Hixon IC, XR and FL-stems
In this article I will share my ideas about the Syncros K-Edge Top Cap Computer Mount that I’ve installed on the Scott Scale 925 mountain bike, on the Syncros FL-stem that’s on the bike. For me this is a solid option on a mountain bike, where I prefer the Garmin Edge 840 on the stem rather than in-front of the stem like on a road bike.
Scott Scale direct mount Chainguide for 1×12 speed
In this article I will review the Scott Scale Direct Mount Chainguide that will support my 1×12 speed Shimano Deore XT M8100 set-up for the Scott Scale 925 mountain bike. On all my bikes I’m using a chain catcher, simply because a damaged frame will easily justify the investment of a proper chain guide.
Muc-Off Tubeless Rim Tape on A-Symmetrical DT Swiss RR411 Road Rim
In this article I will share the use of Muc-Off Tubeless Rim Tape on the a-symmetrical DT Swiss RR411 rim of the FFWD F2A rear wheel that is build around DT Swiss 240s hubs. I’ve purchased the FFWD F2A wheels for a bargain price point. Velox Cotton Textile rim tape and the Schwalbe High Pressure rim tape didn’t do the trick.
Shimano Deore XT PD-M8100 SPD pedals
In this article I will review the Shimano Deore XT PD-M8100 SPD pedals, which are the default for mountain bike and gravel pedals. The new limited edition Shimano GRX SPD M8100-UG pedals are basically the same Deore XT M8100 SPD pedals.
I also have two pairs of Shimano XTR PD-M9100 SPD pedals (which we discounted) that are a bit lighter for the top end group and used by Pete Stetina on his Canyon Grail gravel bike.
ESI Chunky Grips – Silicone MTB Grips
In this article I will share my thoughts about using the ESI Chunky Grips, where Chunky is the model type of ESI Grips. These are silicone bicycle grips of about 60 grams. Philipp Gante, a long time cycling friend, advised me these excellent grips after I was slightly disappointed with the stock grips on my Scott Scale 925.
Alugear Aero Boost Chainring for Shimano Direct Mount
In this article I will review the Alugear Aero Boost Chainring for Shimano Direct Mount, which is one of the very few aero chainrings for a mountain bike. I’m riding a Rotor no-Q Aero chainring on my Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 8 and a Wolf Tooth Aero Chainring for Shimano GRX 820 on the Canyon CF SL 8 gravel bike.
Works Components GEO Chainring for Shimano Direct Mount
In this article I will chare my thoughts on the Works Components Geo Chainring for Shimano Direct Mount. Beautifully designed “honey-comb-like” structure, that looks awesome on a Shimano Deore XT M8100 Hollowtech II crankset. The Shimano TL-FC41 Tool can be used to install this Direct Mount Chainring.
