In this article I will share my thoughts about the Workshop Grease Syringe from Supersonic Parts, a small company in the South of Germany. It is a 30 ml. Having a Workshop Grease Syringe with a dose brush will keep your hands clean and tidy, while being able to apply grease in a controlled way. You could also search for a needle applicator if you need to have even more precise application. Supersonic Parts provides a set of dose brushes in different brush diameters and different stiffness of brush hairs.
I would certainly use the Workshop Grease Syringe from Supersonic Parts with the installation of the CEMA Bearing Interlock BB86-BB92 Bottom Bracket or the C-Bear BB86/BB92 Ceramic Bottom Bracket PF41–AC for All Conditions. Both the cups as well as the aluminum dust covers are perfectly suitable for application with the Workshop Grease Syringe.
When it comes to design and handling, the Workshop Grease Syringe has a good grip, due to the ergonomic handle. The handle is connected to a metal “piston” unfortunately not with a locking nut like the Radar LoobToob so you could risk a leaking syringe when the handle is accidentally pushed. This is the only lowlight that I could find, if I were picky. The 30 ml volume strikes the balance of compact and useful, so also for a short trip it is easy to store in your travel toolbox.
The package also includes two spare o-rings for piston and syringe head and a black spare nipple that can be used to attach a hose for controlled tubeless tire-sealant application. These spare-parts will also make sure that the lifespan of the syringe is significantly extended. Please note that for disc brake bleeding there is a different syringe type available.
The backside of the Supersonic Parts Workshop Grease Syringe is threaded, so the backside is locked in place and refilling is user friendly. Without proper equipment it could be a matter of filling up a plastic bag with grease and than filling the Supersonic Grease Syringe. Supersonic has developed a Grease Filling Plate for Motorex Bike Grease 2000 or r.s.p. Slick Kick Grease for Suspensions Forks and Dampers. The latter filling plate also works with a container of Muc-Off Biogrease. My practical rule is always to fill the Grease Syringe for 75% so that you have a good and stable position to squeeze out the grease.
Finally what interests me is the TPX material, so I needed to look-up the material properties. I wasn’t aware that TPX was a trademarked product. When you look into the properties details, it is a rock solid and robust choice for many different fluid and grease application options.
Polymethylpentene (PMP), also known as poly (4-methyl-1-pentene). It is used for gas-permeable packaging, autoclavable medical and laboratory equipment, microwave components, and cookware. It is commonly called TPX, which is a trademark of Mitsui Chemicals.

Concluding thoughts and wrap-up
The price-point of the Workshop Grease Syringe from Supersonic Parts is € 7,90 (excluding shipping) and the price-point of a set of 2 dose brushes (in 10 mm and 12 mm.) is € 6,90. You can also find two variants of the precision needle applicator (round and flat) for the price point of € 4,90. Please note that in the Netherlands Supersonic Parts has a local distributor with BikerGadgets.
In a typical workshop you might just put a brush into the container with grease, but I will not let the the container of Motorex Bike Grease 2000 simply stay open on the workbench in my garage. A Workshop Grease Syringe is an excellent addition to complement the Dualco High Pressure Grease Guns: Hazet 2162M Mini Grease Gun and Birzman Grease Gun BM14-LGG-S with Lubrication Grease.
Having a couple of Workshop Grease Syringes also allows you to use multiple grease in a clean way: Morgan Blue Calcium Grease, Muc-Off Bio Grease, Muc-Off Copper Compound, Weldtite TF2 Lithium Grease and Mobile XHP 222 Grease. So for me it is a no-brainer to have a couple of these.
