Topeak Nano TorqBit for TorqBar

The Topeak Nano TorqBit is a 1/4″ hex bit with a fixed preset torque value that you can use with each bit holder and each bit. I personally use it in combination with the Fix It Sticks T-Way wrench that I reviewed a little while ago, but it also comes in a set called the Topeak Nano TorqBar.

I will also compare the Topeak Nano TorqBit against the Ritchey Torque Key which also has a fixed preset torque value.

TOPEAK NANO TORQBIT

I would describe the Topeak Nano TorqBit as a 1/4″ bit holder with build-in torque wrench. You can place the Torqbit in your own bit holder.

For example the Fix It Sticks T-Way wrench, the Stahlwille 10758-3S T-wrench but also with my Hazet 2262 screwdriver like bit-holder and even with the PB Swiss Tools 470.M Adapter on a 5 mm. hex key. Topeak itself has the Nano TorqBar.

Another advantage is that you can use Topeak Nano TorqBit with your own preferred bits, in my case with the PB Swiss Tools bits. You can download the ToqBit User guide over here.

TOPEAK NANO TORQBIT OR RITCHEY TORQUE KEY

In the picture above you can see the Topeak Nano Torqbit next to the Ritchey Torque Key.

A head to head comparison is not completely fair, because the Ritchey Torque Key is a complete tool that you can use out of the box. It comes with six 1/4″ bits that are stored in a bullet-chamber kind of holder.

The Nano TorqBar is a better comparison, because the TorqBar is the TorqBit holder and there are five bits included as well. The price-point of the TorqBar and the Ritchey Torque Key is also about the same for a fixed set torque-value.

However if you have high quality bit holders or a ratchet yourself than the Topeak Nano TorqBit is the better and cheaper option. Another advantage of just the Nano TorqBit is that it is suitable to work in relative tight spaces.

CONCLUDING THOUGHTS AND WRAP-UP

Topeak Nano TorqBit is a good addition to my set of PB Swiss Tools bitset. It is an easy bit-insert (tool) with a fixed-set torque value. For more accurate work I simply use my Stahlwille Manoskop 730N/2 Mechanical Torque Wrench 2-20 Nm or the Wera 7515 Kraftform Safe-Torque Speed Torque Screwdriver 2-6 Nm.

The price-point of the Topeak Nano TorqBit is about € 15,– while the  Nano TorqBar is about € 25,–. In my opinion it is not extremely cheap for just a torque bit, but the Park Tool Preset Torque Drivers are a class or two more expensive.

I think it is a matter of personal preference to work with the Ritchey Torque Key or the Park Tool Preset Torque Drivers (PDT). I prefer the Topeak Nano TorqBit in combination with the Hazet 2262 screwdriver or Fix It Sticks T-Way wrench.

Would you buy the Nano TorqBit ?
