Morgan Blue Calcium Grease

In this article will I share my thoughts about Morgan Blue Calcium Grease in a 200cc container. It is another great product from the Belgian brand Morgan Blue, ideal for assembly of bike parts and components. I will try to compare with Motorex Bike Grease 2000 and Morgan Blue Aquaproof Paste.

Key features Morgan Blue Calcium Grease

On the product page of the Morgan Blue Calcium Grease you can read the following description:

Firm grease based on Calcium and used for a wide variety of applications. Originally grease used for maintenance in the naval industry. Calcium Grease is used for the general assembly of bike components and the lubrication of moving parts. Ideal for use with bearings, spindles etc.

Properties And Advantages
  • Good adhesion.
  • Highly waterproof (<1,5 %).
  • Good mechanical stability.

The Morgan Blue Calcium Grease is the preferred construction grease of the Mapdec Cycle Works team with anti-galling and anti corrosion characteristics. Mobile XHP 222 is their proffered waterproof lithium complex grease. I will review the Mobile XHP 222 at a later point in time. The pictures are from a Sundvall labelled 200cc container of Calcium Grease.

First Morgan Blue is a well respected quality brand in the professional World Tour ranks, supporting many of the top teams. The Morgan Blue Calcium Grease is something you cannot go wrong with, that doesn’t eat or corrode other materials on your bike and which is very versatile. It is thinner and less tacky than the Morgan Blue Aquaproof Paste.

It is slightly thicker than Motorex Bike Grease 2000 which is also a calcium based grease and widely used. I don’t belief you can go wrong with both of these. When I need to refill the Hazet 2162M Mini Grease Gun I switch to Morgan Blue Calcium Grease (and back and forth with the Motorex Bike Grease). When carbon bike parts are involved, than Dynamic Carbon Assembly Paste is my preferred assembly paste.

Concluding thoughts and wrap-up

The price point of a 200cc container of Morgan Blue Calcium Grease is around € 11,00 and a big 1000cc container of Calcium Grease will cost you € 37,00. Some white-labelled versions are even cheaper, like this Sundvall branded version with a price point of € 7,00. This is a fair price point and roughly similar as the Motorex Bike Grease.

  • Have you used the Morgan Blue Calcium Grease? What do you think?
  • Have you used other Morgan Blue products? If so which products and why?
  • Have you used alternative calcium greases? What brand and product are you using?

Please let me know in the comment section below. Personally I think you cannot go wrong with Morgan Blue and the Caclium Grease is an excellent product that can be used in many different and versatile scenarios (on and off the bike). Other Morgan Blue product reviews are listed below:
