In this article I will briefly review the Natusport Soft Nougat Sport Bar in flavor Lemon & Salt. It reminds me of the Win2 Energy Bar Na+ (with salt). But I will compare with the 6D Sports Nougat Bar and the Amacx Energy Nougat Bars that were reviewed earlier on this website.

Lots of carbohydrates in little weight, because a 40 g bar contains no less than 35 g of carbohydrates. In addition, the bar is also very tasty and easily bites away. The glucose:fructose ratio of 2:1 and the addition of Palatinose ensure optimal carbohydrate absorption. In short, an efficient bite for on the go!
Palatinose is a sugar that is absorbed more slowly. In combination with the other sugars, this gives a more spread and optimal absorption of carbohydrates.
In the review of the NatuSport Isotonic Sports drink Red Fruit I’ve mentioned that most NatuSport products have been developed for easy absorption of carbohydrates. For me the addition of Palatinose is again evidence of this vision. In practice the lemon flavor is nice, and sometimes you can feel and taste a little piece of lemon (just like the cranberries or papayas with the Amacx Energy Nougat Bar).
The taste is not salty and if you compare the nutritional value details the amount of salt is very similar to the other energy nougat bars like Sports Nougat Bar – 6D Sports Nutrition. Electrolytes and enough salt during exercise is very important, so good to replenish with the Natusport Soft Nougat Sport Bar.
All NatuSport products are NZVT-certified, which is a quality certification for professional athletes reflecting the absence of prohibited substances (doping). NZVT is the acronym for “Nederlands Zekerheidssyteem Voedingssupplementen Topsport“. While I’m certainly not a professional athlete, it is good to have these quality certifications in place.
It is an easy to bit and easy to digest bar, only in very warm weather the Soft Nougat Sport Bar can be a bit sticky to the plastic paper.

Before we go into the specific break down in nutritional values of the Natusport Soft Nougat Sport Bar, let’s have a look at the total amount of energy per 100 grams and compare against the other energy bars that I’ve reviewed so far:
- Win2 Energy Bar has a total energy of 1955 kJ of energy per 100 grams (but discontinued)
- 6D Sports Nougat Bar provides 1789 kJ of energy per 100 grams
- Amacx Energy Nougat Bar fuels you with 1780 kJ of energy per 100 grams
- Natusport Soft Nougat Sport Bar in flavor Lemon & Salt contains 1773 kJ of energy per 100 grams
- PowerBar Ride energy has 1706 kJ of energy per 100 grams.
- PowerBar Energize Original fuels you with 1560 kJ of energy per 100 grams
- AC Sports Nutrition Energy Bar contains 1478 kJ of energy per 100 grams

Only the Win2 Energy Bar Na+ would contain 0,61 gr of salt per 100 grams, but unfortunately Win2 Energy is out of business. Overall the amount of energy is on par with 6D Sports Nutrition and Amacx (16 kJ is probably not noticeable for an amateur cyclist like me).
Concluding thoughts and wrap-up
The price point of the Natusport Soft Nougat Sport Bar in flavor Lemon & Salt is € 23,95 for a box with 12 nougat bars. A single Nougat bar has therefore a price point of € 1,99 which is more or less on par with the competition.
