In this article I will share my experience with the water repellent Sportful Fiandre Leg Warmers. I have two sets of Sportful Fiandre Arm, Leg and Knee-warmers. Using these across cycling disciplines on the road, mountain bike and gravel bike.
Sportful has Fiandre 2 products on their website, and has expanded the Fiandre material in many other products. I will try to compare the Fiandre Leg Warmers with the Gripgrab AquaRepel arm and leg warmers, and the Castelli Nanoflex warmers.

The old version I used didn’t have the red Fiandre band, but was plain black with reflective logo’s. All Sportful Fiandre products, from jackets to bib-shorts or each of the accessories have the red Fiandre band incorporated somewhere in the product. With the arm and leg warmers, the red band is incorporated with one of the the warmers (the right one), and a reflective Sportful logo on the other (left) warmer. The old version had some reflective flaps attached in the seam.
When you feel the fabric of the Fiandre leg warmers between your fingers, you can really feel the optimization of water repellent treatment and insulation. It is a well insulating set of of warmers. Please note that I have used the Sportful Fiandre knee warmers during the super rainy Alp d’HuZes 2025 in combination with Shimano Dual Rain Shoe Covers.
So these are my proven and tested warmers. The GripGrab AquaRepel Arm and Leg Warmers have a tighter fit than the Sportful Fiandre warmers, but also GripGrab has a new AquaRepel 2 fabric used. In my experience I think the insulation is a tiny bit better with the Sportful Fiandre warmers. I think that the Castelli Nanoflex warmers are very close in terms of features and functions.
Concluding thoughts and wrap-up
The price point of the Sportful Fiandre leg warmers is around € 35,00 – € 40,00 which is very reasonable for a water repellent and isolating set of leg warmers. The Sportful Fiandre arm warmers even are available for around € 20,00 which is superb value for money ratio. Especially for a premium clothing brand used by professional World Tour teams.
