Hazet 2162M Mini Grease Gun

In this article I will review the Hazet 2162M Mini Grease Gun that I have on my work bench since the early 2000’s. While it started to lubricate my Speedplay Zero Stainless pedals it has grown into an allround product that is helpful in many use case, where precision application is required.

Initially I’ve bought a Hazet 2162 Mini Grease Gun to maintain my Speedplay Zero Stainless pedals. These minimalistic road pedals come with the option to re-grease the bearings that keep the pedal body rotating around the pedal axle (on the side of the pedal you can remove a bolt and stick the nipple of the grease gun in it, and the pressure grease gun does the heavy lifting.

Years later, I’m still riding Speedplay Zero Stainless pedals, but I’ve extended the collections of Hazet 2162M Mini Grease Guns. One is always on my garage work bench filled with my preferred allround grease Motorex Bike Grease 2000. But I’ve also used the 2162M in combination with Muc-Off Bio Grease.

After I’ve purchased a super bargain Birzman Grease Gun BM14-LGG-S with Lubrication Grease I’ve changed the nozzle tip of one Birzman Grease Gun with the Hazet 2162M mini grease gun. So that makes my home mechanic garage workshop a bit more versatile. So with both lubrication grease tubes and with grease containers I can keep the moving parts and bolts in an excellent condition.

Concluding thoughts and wrap-up

The price-point of a Hazet 2162 Mini Grease Gun is in the range of 20,00 – 25,00 which is not super cheap. However it is a fair price-point for a quality German engineered product. My first Hazet 2162 Mini Grease Gun was purchased around 2002 when I rode a Giant TCR Advanced in ONCE branding. It still works perfectly without any signs of wear.
