Dynamic Chain Cleaner – Spray Can

In this article I will review the Dynamic Chain Cleaner that comes in a 400 ml spray can with Dynamic Bike Care branding on it.

The Dynamic Chain Cleaner Spray Can is part of my “limited” toolbox when being on a short cycling trip (where you don’t want to take your complete home mechanic toolkit from the garage with you).

SPRAY CAN WITH DYNAMIC CHAIN CLEANER

The high pressure Chain Cleaner is a single component degreasing spray for your drivetrain that leaves nu residue. Ideal to prepare or clean your chain when using a chain wax or when switching between lubes. […] Dynamic High Pressure Chain Cleaner can be used on all parts of your drivetrain including chains, rear cassettes and derailleurs. Frequently cleaning and re-lubricating your chain will extend the lifetime of your drivetrain.

Dynamic Chain Cleaner is available in three options: (1) high pressure spray can with 400 ml of chain cleaner, (2) 500 or 1000 ml bottles with Dynamic Chain Cleaner to be used with a Chain cleaning tool similar to the Muc-Off X3 Dirty Chain Machine, and (3) in a planet friendly Bio Drivetrain Detox version of 1000 ml.

This second option (non-spray-can) has a unique formula that is based on two-components. The cleaner acts as a degreaser while at the same time, preparing your drivetrain with preparatory. It is a similar idea as Smoove Prep (Chain Cleaner). Moving forward in the cycling season this year I will try to get my hands of the eco-friendly version. 🙂

I use the spray can with Dynamic Chain Cleaner when I’m in a hurry and want to do some quick maintenance, as well when I’m packing my on-the-go-mechanic tool box for a short cycling trip. It fits perfectly in the Berner Bera Clic Toolbox having everything together (lube, cleaner, maintenance tools and spare parts).

CONCLUDING THOUGHTS AND WRAP-UP

Dynamic Bike Care is the sponsor of Alpecin-Deceuninck Cycling Team and Jumbo Visma Cycling Team, supporting champions like Mathieu van der Poel and Wout van Aert.

While being at my garage I still use the Muc-Off Bio Drivetrain Cleaner in combination with the Muc-Off X3 Dirty Chain Machine (and Pressol Oil Sprayerbottle with brass spout (500 ml)) as my go to chain cleaning way, when I have the time for a proper maintenance of the bike(s).

More in a hurry or on a short cycling trip the Dynamic Chain Cleaner Spray Can in combination with a piece of cloth and the Finish Line Grunge Brush or the Dynamic Drivetrain Detailing Brush is for me the most effective way to clean chain and cassette.

In the past I’ve used a non-cycling-branded W5 spray can with 300 ml chain cleaner (for motor cycles), but that felt more aggressive to the skin of my hands and the nozzle was different. The price-point of the Spray Can with Dynamic Chain Cleaner is € 12,– which is not cheap but it is effective and well paid for the on-the-go-mechanic scenario. You know the Dynamic quality is inside the spray can.

Do you use chain cleaner in a spray can? And if so which one are you using? Let me know in the comment section.
