CyclOn Cleaning Glove for Bike Wash

In this article I will have a look at the CyclOn Cleaning Glove (for Bike Wash) that I use in the cleaning regime. The volume of the Cleaning Glove is much smaller than the Eurocol sponge that I normally use to clean bike or car. I’m curious to learn if the washing experience is different when you use the Cleaning Glove in a wash cloth style (hand on the inside versus hand around a sponge).

Key features CyclOn Cleaning Glove

On the product page of the CyclOn Cleaning Glove for Bike Wash you can read the following description:

With this microfibre wash glove, you can easily clean the frame of your road bike, mountain bike, gravel bike or e-bike. The long fibres on the washing glove absorb the CyclOn Bike Cleaner and the water, allowing you to easily polish the dirt off your frame without scratches.

Features
  • Wash glove with long fibres for cleaning the frame
  • The fibres absorb the Bike Cleaner and the water, making it easy to clean your bike
  • Made of soft absorbent material
  • Washing glove is machine washable

The main advantage of the CyclOn Wash Glove is the fact you have a more direct feeling when cleaning the frameset. Plus it is excellent in small and tight spaces when it is harder to compress the Eurocol Joint Sponge.

When you are out on a bike trip, the CyclOn Cleaning Glove is compressible to a very small volume, and the Glove is also machine washable. In practice I mix and match with the Eurocol Joint Sponge, but it fits my bike cleaning regime really well:

  1. I take a garden hose, and spray off the excessive dirt and mud first withthe GEKA Spray Nozzle Light. So the frameset has water on it, and some dirt has been removed already
  2. I spray the frameset with Pedros Green Fizz Active Bike Wash (or Muc-Off Nano Tech Bike Cleaner) and let the active component do the heavy lifting.
  3. I deep clean the chain and cassette with help of the Muc-Off X3 Dirty Chain Machine or the Weldtite Chain Cleaning Machine (and if needed the Dynamic Drivetrain Detailing Brush or Finish Line Grunge Brush)
  4. After sufficient time to let the active component in Pedros Green Fizz Active Bike Wash do the work, I prepare a bucket with Morgan Blue Bike Wash and clean the bike from top to down with Eurocol Joint Sponge or Cyclon Cleaning Glove.
  5. When finished I spray of the bike again with a garden hose and dry the bike with a towel (and or use an air compressor in my garage)
  6. Then re-greasing and re-lubing the chain and other appropriate parts. Muc-Off Mechanics Gloves might be helpful and here you can check out the most important Chain Lube Archives.

Concluding thoughts and wrap-up

The price point of the CyclOn Cleaning Glove (for Bike Wash) is € 9,00€ 10,00. It takes up less space than an Eurocol sponge which I use in combination with the Morgan Blue Bike Wash. The advantage of a Glove is that you have a more direct feeling when cleaning the frameset.

The long fibers remind met the most of the typical brushes you see in a car wash. Only difference is that the quality CyclOn Cleaning Glove is for your bike (and not a car).
