In this article I will share my experience with the Falke BC Impulse Cycling Socks in white (with red Falke branding) with its innovative mesh sole under the ball of the foot. Falke is the preferred brand for my hiking socks always using the TK1 model, so let’s see what the unique differentiators are from the Impulse Cycling Socks.

Key features Falke BC Impulse Cycling Socks
On the product page of the Falke BC Impulse Unisex Biking Socks you can read the following description and product highlights:
The innovative mesh knit stimulates the receptors on the ball of the foot. The stimulation and permanent massage minimize numbness in the cycling shoe. In addition, the open structure ensures fast transport of heat and sweat and keeps your feet cool and dry. In addition, the ultra-light padding combined with the stimulation of the receptors in the ball of the foot and the toes offers improved balance and dynamics, as well as immediate power transmission in all cycling shoes. The optimum fit completes the functionality of these sports socks perfectly. The design of the “BC Impulse Peloton” with coloured strokes in the shaft is reminiscent of a bicycle peloton in a bird’s eye view, making it perfect for riding road bikes.
Highlights
- Ultralight cycling socks with stimulating mesh to prevent numbness
- Ventilating mesh to keep feet cool and dry
- Quick dry insulating polyamide-polyester mix
- Optimal fit adapted to the specific requirements of the respective foot (true L/R foot)
- Impulse technology for improved dynamics and better balance
- Ultralight cushioning for direct control and speed
The mesh structure is something you directly notice under the ball of your foot. At first thought that this would be the weakest spot of the cycling sock and I was expecting the mesh structure to be wrecked soon. Luckily this is not the case, and the mesh structure is still in a very good condition. It can certainly help in overall ventilation and also doesn’t feel uncomfortable in combination with the Solestar Kontrol BLK Cycling Insoles.
The Falke BC Impulse Cycling Socks are high and providing a nice level of compression. In the white color the design of the “BC Impulse Peloton” with colored strokes in the shaft is almost invisible because the colored strokes are white on white. Same is applicable for the black color, here the design is black on black. But all other colors have a pretty cool pattern on the shaft of the socks.
Something I’m used to from the Falke TK1 Trekking Socks for the Hanwag Alverstone II GTX or Hanwag Ferrata II GTX is the specific left foot and right foot design. The socks are marked with an L or and R so you have some additional guidance to distinguish between both unique socks.
Concluding thoughts and wrap-up
When I purchased the Falke BC Impulse Cycling Socks in white the price point was around € 16,00 where on the official Falke website the price is € 22,00. Even the official price point is on par with the cycling socks from Assos, Castelli and other premium brands.
I’m positively surprised by the robustness of mesh structure and the ventilation it brings. Otherwise these socks are simply in line with the quality one can expect from a premium brand like Falke. I really like the high shaft design and compression level.
