In this article I will share my test experience of the AC Sports Nutrition Energy Bar (40 grams) which is a private label of duursport.nl and competitively priced against the sports nutrition A-player-brands. As always I’ll look into the nutritional value per 100 grams to make a fair comparison.

Before we go into the specific break down in nutritional values of the AC Sports Nutrition Energy Bar, let’s have a look at the total amount of energy per 100 grams and compare against the other energy bars that I’ve reviewed so far:
- Win2 Energy Bar has a total energy of 1955 kJ of energy per 100 grams (but discontinued)
- 6D Sports Nougat Bar provides 1789 kJ of energy per 100 grams
- Amacx Energy Nougat Bar fuels you with 1780 kJ of energy per 100 grams
- PowerBar Ride energy has 1706 kJ of energy per 100 grams.
- PowerBar Energize Original fuels you with 1560 kJ of energy per 100 grams
- AC Sports Nutrition Energy Bar contains 1478 kJ of energy per 100 grams

Please note that the nutritional value overview is for the Energy Bar in flavor Apple Pie. The Banana flavor is slightly different, containing less salt and more fat.
I don’t think that you will experience much difference between the AC Sports Nutrition Energy Bar and PowerBar Energize Original in practice with an energy difference 80 kJ per 100 grams.
Concluding thoughts and wrap-up
The price point of an AC Sports Nutrition Energy Bar is € 1,70 regardless of the flavor banana or apple pie. A display of 12 energy bars of AC Sports Nutrition will cost you just below € 19,00. Most energy bars on duursport.nl are above the € 2,00 price point.
While per 100 grams the Energy Bar provides 1478 kJ (and that might feel on the lower end, compared to the other brands) it is excellent value for money. If you would calculate the amount of energy per € than the Energy Bar of AC Sports Nutrition would be clearly the winner.
