BibBits Race Number Magnets with safety pin print

In this article I will share why every cyclist and runner should have a set of BibBits Race Number Magnets. My girlfriend purchased a set of these when she was running a half marathon at Arrow Venloop 2025. During my recent Alpe d’HuZes 2025 participate I had my fight again with the safety pins to get the race number on.

Key features BibBits Race Number Magnets

On the product page of BibBits Race Number Magnets (with standard print of a safety pin) you can read this description:

Runners easily attach their race number to the running shirt with BibBits. The bib is held firmly in place with four race number magnets. BibBits’ light weight and rounded corners make them comfortable to wear. Moreover, running clothes are no longer damaged by the use of safety pins. With race number magnets, pins are superfluous!

Personally I always think it is a fight with a jersey to attach a race number on your running shirt (for example the Fusion Mens C3-T-Shirt) or on the back pockets of a cycling jersey. Not only to position and outline the race number in a good way, but sometimes you simply need to ask someone else to attach the safety pins. With the BibBits the re-positioning as far easier and you can do it yourself without any help.

The primary reason why I hate the use of safety pins is the fact that you simply damage your expensive running shirts or cycling jerseys (varying from € 50,00 to € 150,00). So only for this reason of damaging expensive clothing the investment into a set of BibBits is a no brainer.

The BibBits set consists of four magnet sets (one set for each corner of the race number). I haven’t validated, but it feels like these are strong neodymium magnets which are positioned into a plastic cover for easy handling and connection.

The BibBits magnet for the inside of the shirt, has a round plastic cover that smoothens any edges, but is as small as possible at the same time. The BibBits magnet for the outside of the shirt, has a rectangular shaped cover that is slightly bigger, that optimizes the surface that pushed the race number onto the jersey.

Concluding thoughts and wrap-up

The price point of a set BibBits Race Number Magnets (with standard print of a safety pin) is around € 9,00. This is a bargain price for not damaging your expensive running shirts or cycling jerseys of € 150,00.

Even when you don’t put on a race number that often anymore, it is a good investment for many grandfondo type of events. So I’ve purchased two sets with safety pin print in the colors silver/grey and white. There are also man other standard prints in many colors, and when you organize an event you can also get our own custom versions.

  • Have you ever heard of the BibBits before ?
  • Do you use any alternative options to attach race numbers ?
