CyclOn Hand Cleaning Brush

In this article I will share my experience with the CyclOn Hand Cleaning Brush, which is a great companion to clean the cassette on a rear wheel. For me it is a great addition to the Finish Line Grunge Brush and a couple of Morgan Blue brushes.

Design CyclOn Hand Cleaning Brush

On the product page of the CyclOn Hand Cleaning Brush one can read an extensive description about this handy brush:

The CyclOn Hand Cleaning Brush is the perfect tool for thoroughly cleaning your bike’s cassette. With its special nylon bristles, this brush is designed to remove dirt between the sprockets quickly and efficiently. This ensures smooth and effective removal of accumulated dirt, even in hard-to-reach areas. This makes it ideal for maintaining your drivetrain.

CyclOn recommends CyclOn Bionet Chain Cleaner for optimum cleaning and degreasing of your drivetrain. This combination ensures that you achieve the best results when cleaning your cassette and chain, keeping them in top condition.

  • Specially designed for cleaning the cassette
  • The hard bristles make it easy to remove hard-to-remove dirt
  • For your frame, use the Soft Washing Brush which has a protective rubber edge

The narrow profile of the CyclOn Hand Cleaning Brush gives it the perfect shape to clean between the cogs of the Shimano Deore XT M8100 cassette. When your rear wheel is taken out of the bike you can basically roll the cassette with the CyclOn Hand Brush.

But also with the wheel in the bike it is possible given the same narrow profile. However in that scenario I would prefer the long single brush of the Finish Line Grunge Brush (or a radiator brush). Morgan Blue (also one of the brands I use more often) has a Cassette Brush with a wider profile. So concluding this small brush profile is a key feature I like.

While the backbone of the CyclOn Cleaning Brush is from metal (steel) the end-point is covered with a protective rubber edge. So you will not be able to damage a frame when pointing the CyclOn Cleaning Brush frontal against a frameset (by accident).

Concluding thoughts and wrap-up

The price-point of the CyclOn Hand Cleaning Brush is € 10,00 – € 11,00 which is fair for a premium quality brand like CyclOn. I’m also using the CyclOn Chain Keeper (thru axle) on my Scott Scale 925 mountain bike.

While the Muc-Off X3 Dirty Chain Machine helps me to get the chain nice and shiny again, I used the CyclOn Hand Cleaning Brush after that (with still the Muc-Off or Morgan Blue chain cleaner on the cassette).

In the good old days – and I still regularly work like that- I used the side of a piece of cloth and made saw-like movements between the cogs of the cassette. This is much more convenient in the overall cleaning process of the bike.

  • What brush do you use to clean your mountain bike casette ?
  • Any other CyclOn products that you are using ?
